Trinity Motorcycle Club

Trinity Methodist Church, Lisburn

Its not just about speed...

Welcome !

A brief word from the Chairperson

Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website

My name is Murray Clynes and for my sins I'm the present club chairperson.

Our young club has, this '08 year, started its fourteenth year and I can truly say that the membership are as enthusiastic as ever. Members' ages range from twenty something to fifty something and the club caters for all (i.e. the speedy and the not so speedy).
By browsing around this site you can get a fair idea of what the club is about, so if you are interested in obtaining further information drop me an e-mail or give me a call -- I'll be pleased to hear from you.

Alternatively if you are a biker, (male or female) within reach of us, and are interested in possibly joining the club, please feel free to come along (without obligation) to one of our meetings or runs -- you will be made very welcome. (PS you can check the calendar of events for logistics of meetings).

Enjoy the Website and Safe Biking!

God Bless,
Murray

A message from our Chaplain

I recall a motorbike joke that did the rounds many years ago.

  • Question:    'What is the first mention of a motorbike to be found in the Bible?'
  • Answer:       'The sound of Moses' triumph was heard throughout the city.'

The only trouble is that I've never been able to find such a verse in Scripture; which is a pity, because it would make a great introduction to this piece for the Trinity Motorcycle Club web site!
When I first heard that I was coming to Lisburn, to become the minister at Trinity Methodist; and that, among its many activities, the church had a motorcycle club, I was a bit concerned. Was the minister expected to have a bike too? After all, it's been a very long time since I last rode a motorbike. I might even need stabilisers just to stay upright.
But the members of our Motorcycle Club are a gracious bunch. They never put down those of us who cannot 'bike', and all of us at Trinity are very proud of them. We gaze in awe upon their gleaming array of fine machinery lined up in the church car park. We admire the panache of the biker's leather gear. They are the gladiators; we are just the crowd who cheers them on.
The Motorcycle Club is a unique fellowship in the Lord Jesus Christ. When they go on their 'runs' across the length and breadth of Ireland, they bring Christian friendship and encouragement to the many churches they visit. These are often small congregations whose numbers can be doubled when the Trinity bikers arrive.
The joke above hangs on the word 'triumph'. The truth is that, under God, Moses did triumph, over Pharoah, and as leader of God's people. Jesus triumphed too, over sin by His death on the cross, and over death by His resurrection. He invites everyone, without exception, to come to Him, and trust in Him as Saviour, and believe in Him as Lord. In Him we triumph too, because His victory is our victory, and that goes with us wherever we go.
'Thanks be to God', (says the Word In 2 Cor. 2:14); 'who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere". May that ever be the experience of the Trinity Motorcycle Club.

Go bikers go! Go carefully. And may God continually go with you. May your faith and fellowship deepen, as you spread the fragrance of God, in Christ, wherever you travel.
